DAY 1

JING "allows you to snap an image of anything on your desktop, record what you do or what you see, and instantly upload it to email, IM, or blogs."  Participants will view a short Jing video and watch a Jing being made.  Jing tools will be demonstrated as well.

"A VoiceThread is an online media album that can hold essentially any type of media (images, documents and videos) and allows people to make comments in 5 different ways - using voice (with a microphone or telephone), text, audio file, or video (with a webcam) - and share them with anyone they wish. A VoiceThread allows group conversations to be collected and shared in one place, from anywhere in the world."  Participants will watch the introductory video entitled What's a VoiceThread Anyway? and register for an account. 

Zoho Show is a web based tool ( free) that creates an online Powerpoint type slideshow. You can create a show from scratch or import one already in Powerpoint. Slideshows are available from any computer with an Internet connection. Create, connect, share and collobrate within the application. You can also embed a show in your blog or website. Try the tutorial out.

"Capture your digital lifestyle.  Take a “snapshot” of anything on your PC screen, send it, store it", turn it into a pdf, or graphic.  You can add text, special downloadable stamps with numbers, figures or holiday stamps. Create step by step documentation for students to use to complete tasks both on the internet or with project based instruction.  If you can digitize it, you can capture it and edit the document with emphasis such as arrows, highlighter, additional text, fill colors, spray colors, and you can erase sections of the page that might contain answers or other material.  SnagIt has been used to create documentation for the PDMS and Learning Village Programs.
